The Person Behind Dental Writers Club

Hi, I'm Dale King, the founder of Dental Writers Club and a specialist dental contentwriter.
I've been writing professionally about dentistry since 2010, so I've now spent more than 16 years working in a niche that I still find fascinating.

Over the years, I've written for dental practices, dental businesses, manufacturers and some of the biggest names in the dental industry, including Straumann Group, Nobel Biocare and Align Technology.

I've written about pretty much every aspect of dentistry you can imagine, from dental implants and orthodontics to digital dentistry, cosmetic treatments and patienteducation.

But Dental Writers Club didn't start because I wanted to create another website about writing.

I created it because I know how difficult it can be to figure out how to actually make aliving from dental writing.

I learned by doing it

When I started writing about dentistry, there wasn't a handy roadmap showing me where to find dental clients, how much to charge, how to put together a portfolio, or how to convince someone that I was the right person to write about dentistry.

I had to work a lot of that out for myself. Over the years, I've learned what works, what doesn't, where the opportunities are, and, perhaps just as importantly, which mistakes are best avoided.

I've also seen how much the dental industry has changed. Dental practices and businesses now rely heavily on websites, blogs, social media, patient education and search-engine visibility.

Manufacturers and dental technologycompanies need a steady stream of high-quality content to explain increasinglycomplex products and treatments.

That creates opportunities for writers who can combine good writing with a genuine understanding of dentistry. And that's where Dental Writers Club comes in.

Why I Created Dental Writers Club

I wanted to create the resource I wish had existed when I started.

Dental Writers Club is designed to help writers – whether they're completely new to freelance writing or already established in another niche – understand how to enter the dental writing market and build a sustainable business.

That means practical advice rather than vague motivational content.

How do you find your first client?

How do you build a portfolio when you don't have any clients?

What should you charge?

How do you approach dental practices and marketing agencies?

How do you demonstrate that you understand dentistry if you're not a dental professional?

And perhaps most importantly,
How do you turn occasional writing jobs into a proper business?

These are the questions I've spent years figuring out, and they're the questions Iwant Dental Writers Club to help you answer.

You Don't Have to be a Dentist

One of the biggest misconceptions about dental writing is that you need to be adentist to do it.

You don't.

Of course, having a professional dental background can be enormously valuable. But you can also become an excellent dental writer by developing a strongunderstanding of the subject, learning how to research properly and understandinghow to communicate complex dental information clearly and accurately.

That's something I've seen repeatedly throughout my career.

You don't need to know everything about dentistry before you start.

You need to know how to learn, how to write and how to communicate. The rest can be developed.

A Little Bit About Me

I'm British, although these days I live in southern Spain with my partner, Julie.

When I'm not writing, working on Dental Writers Club or helping clients with theircontent, I enjoy the slower pace of life here – although living in rural Spain doesn't necessarily mean I've escaped the occasional 40°C summer!

After 16 years in dental writing, I'm still working with clients while building Dental Writers Club alongside my own writing business.

That's important to me.

I'm not teaching from theory. I'm still in the industry, still writing and still learning.

And I intend to keep Dental Writers Club that way.

So, What can Dental Writers Club do for you?

If you're considering dental writing as a career, a side income or simply as a newspecialist niche, you're in the right place.
