Welcome to this week’s DWC Jobwatch.

This week, I’ve found a handful of opportunities that go beyond the usual freelance writing roles. From developing educational or course material, through to writing for a trusted dental content site, there are some interesting possibilities for writers and dental professionals with the right experience.

As always, these are curated opportunities, not a list of every writing job I could find. Some are highly specialised, so take a moment to check the requirements before applying.

Medical Writer Doctors (MD/DO/DDS/DMD) for Aesthetic & Dental CE Courses

Company: Precision Academy

Job Type: Freelance 3-6 month duration

Location: Remote

Salary: $40-$80 per hour

Role Summary:
Medical Writer for Aesthetic and Dental CE courses – The company is looking for licensed doctors, including dentists and oral surgeons, to develop and edit continuing-education course material. The work includes checking clinical claims against named textbooks, guidelines and peer-reviewed research, and ensuring the final content is accurate and clearly written.

Who might be a fit?
This is a role for Licensed clinical professionals only

Dale’s Take:
This is a good role for a dentist/dental clinician looking to transition from chairside to medical/dental communications. Although this project was posted several days ago, the company are still actively interviewing candidates

Freelance Specialist Medical and Clinical writer in Dentistry

Company: Pepgra

Job Type: Freelance

Location: Remote

Salary: NOT STATED

Role Summary: Specialist freelance dental writers for clinical research and scientific communications. Assignments can include manuscripts, case reports, literature reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical documents and evidence-based policy writing.

Who might be a fit?

  • A Post Doc/PhD/Master’s degree or expertise in Dentistry
  • Research/writing experience and preferred certification in academic writing, editing, publishing, dossier report writing, evidence-base report for policy development, scientific communication, journal article writing, etc.
  • Knowledge of the different styles and conventions followed in academic and scientific writing
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and attention to detail (prior writing experience would be great)

 

Dale’s Take:
This may be a good opportunity for someone who wants to get into the academic side of dental communications. The company state attractive pay for quality writing but don’t state what that is so clarification may be necessary. There is also an online application form to fill in. 

SEO Content Editor and Writer for Dentaly.Org

Company: Dentaly.Org

Job Type: FREELANCE 

Location: Remote – Wordwide team

Salary: Not stated

Role Summary:
The company are inviting applications from SEO content writers and editors to create new dental and oral-health content and update its existing library. The work involves researching topics, writing and editing articles, following SEO briefs and working independently with WordPress.

Who might be a fit?
Anyone with Dental or medical writing experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong English, self-editing, SEO skills and attention to detail are important.

This is an ongoing invitation to apply rather than a dated vacancy, so it does not guarantee an immediate assignment. That said, Dentaly. Org is a trusted site for dental content with several thousand articles and is a great chance to get your byline on a trusted author site.

Healthcare & Medical Writing Opportunities

[Freelance Medical & Regulatory writer

Company: Pepgra

Job Type: FREELANCE

Location: REMOTE 

Salary: Not Stated

Role Summary:
Responsibilities include clinical evaluation plans and reports, clinical study protocols and reports, regulatory submissions, manuscripts, abstracts, posters and presentations.

Who might be a fit?
Applicants need a degree or equivalent expertise in a specialist healthcare or medical subject. Excellent English and attention to detail are required. AMWA or EMWA certification is an advantage.

Dale’s Take:

This is ideal for writers who want to move beyond general healthcare articles and get into the more technical side of medical writing and requires a good understanding of clinical documentation and regulatory requirements. If you’ve already got strong medical  anf enjoy working with research, it’s worth investigating.

Final Thoughts: This week, I’ve found a small but broad mix of opportunities for dental writers, clinically qualified professionals and those interested in developing their medical-writing skills.
